2019 SANTE ROSSO Merlot

DESCRIPTION: Vibrant, impenetrable ruby red wine. Every year Mr Giorgio Cecchetto selects the best rows of vines in his estate for the production of this exceptional wine and such parcels of land can be traced on the back label.

The grapes are left on the vines to over-ripe for a short period of time and then moved to oak barrel to macerate for 10 days. Finally, the wine is aged 8 months in barriques before it is released. Winner of a very long list of awards since 2002, including the Trophy of best Italian Merlot numerous times and multiple gold medals world wide.

Deep and complex aromas of plum, sour cherry evolve into wild berries, spices, ground and wood. Intense and full bodied with red fruit on the palate, long finish with a touch of dark chocolate and tobacco.
